Aces drop season opener to the Jam 121 - 124

Alex "Break 'em Off" Hill was the Aces "ace" in the hole, scoring 8 straight points in the fourth quarter to keep the Orlando Aces from folding to the Jacksonville Jam! The Aces were down by as much as 20, but clawed their way back into the game.

Nearly 2500 people showed up to watch the inaugural season debut of both the Orlando Aces and the Jacksonville Jam. The teams wouldn't disappoint, providing a nail biting finish to an exciting game! Unfortunately, the Aces we're defeated by a 3 pointer with 1.3 seconds remaining.

"We showed a lot of pride tonight!" said Aces Owner/Head Coach Todd Triplett. "Through all the adversity, on and off the court, we stuck together and persevered. You don't need a win after a game like this to feel victorious ...especially after what we have been through trying to prepare for our first year!"

The Aces had a balanced attack, with Hill leading the way with 21 points. Renardo Norman and Antonio Lawrence chipped in 20 and 19 respectively. Former Jones High School standout Chadd Rucker played a key role off the bench with 17 points, 6 assists and 8 rebounds.

"Chadd gave us a solid spark off the bench," Coach Triplett said. "I'm really proud of the way he stepped up for us! He showed a lot of heart tonight!"
